After taking some time off for the rainy season, I’ve started scheduling a new season of boat tours for spring and summer of 2022. You have two routes to choose from: the Oakland tour (which also includes brief swings through Berkeley and Yerba Buena Island) or the Richmond tour. Both of the family-friendly trips last about three hours and feature stories about everything from booming shipyards and literary legends to whale-hunters and mysterious shipwrecks. All tours begin and end at the Emeryville Marina.
If you want to know a bit more about the tours, here’s an essay that I wrote about them and here are links to some recent media coverage:
Alta Journal: A Historical Trip around the Bay
KQED: Hitting the road and building a Northern California Bucket List
Diablo Magazine: Keeping History Alive with Liam O’Donoghue

As always, you can bring your own drinks/snacks and warm clothing is recommended! See you out there. -Liam
